Changes in teaching?

What changes must we make in our teaching as it becomes easier to bring primary sources to our students?

I think we will need to teach more in depth about how students can figure out if there sources are accurate and credible and whether they have any sort of bias. -RH

We must include technology more. We need to prepare students for later life that is going to be rich in technology. Give them the resources needed to be successful. In order for us to do this, we will need to spend more time preparing for class and researching ideas that we can use in our classroom.

Teachers need to be comfortable with technology before they can be comfortable teaching it.

We have to get over our barriers of being in control all of the time and knowing everything the way teachers are suppose to. Students today have the resources to attain information beyond any book or magazine. We have to use these even when we don't feel completely comfortable or know what we are going to find.

We must insure that the students have the tools to filter through the large volume of sources available. A primary problem today when doing searches is the overwhelming amount of choices.
I like the idea of links on Blogs, because of the ability of many users to act a multiple filter system and also how it helps future users streamline their search time.

I believe we need to use the technology available to allow students the opportunities to explore the different sources they can use, then use skills to determine whether the source is credible or accurate.

It begins with us. Our teaching must shift with the times; we must challenge ourselves to change our ideas about teaching. First we must make ourselves aware of the primary sources available in our field and then make use of them.
